BUNDABERG RUM 1961

Details: The Bundaberg Rum 1961 release commonly referred to as the Bear’s Birthday bottles, is a specially crafted rum aged for exactly 1961 days.  The rum in all three (3) bottles is the same rum.

This release was to celebrate the 50th Birthday of Bundy R. Bear.

Variations:  There are three (3) individually numbered bottles in the set a Retro label design that included on the top label a sitting bear as designed by Sam McMahon.  This bottle came boxed in a Retro yellow box and was available from the Distillery on the day of the release and then Dan Murphy’s nationally about 2 weeks after the official launch.  


The second bottle is the Modern black label bottle that has the proud bear in the rosette within the 2010 label design.  This bottle also came in a slightly larger box that has been used since 2008.   This bottle also was available from the Distillery on the day of the release and then Dan Murphy’s nationally about 2 weeks after the official launch.


The third bottle was released to selected independent and smaller chain bottle shops and was not available from the distillery on the day of the release.  It included the 2010 label design with 3 different versions of the bear in rosette’s and did not include a box.


The first 999 bottles of both the Retro and Modern label bottles were sold as a twin pack with matching numbers $AUD100 RRP.  Bottle numbers over 1000 were sold individually $AUD50 RRP and the matching numbers could not be guaranteed or requested.
