Alc/Volume: 40% Bottle sizes: 700ml
Details: BDC have been mastering the art of ageing rum since 1888 and still age their
rum in oak vats that are still crafted and maintained by hand. Every now and then
a maturing vat produces something exceptional, rum with supreme character that takes
time to develop.
These exceptional vats are reserved and closely watched by BDC’s expert rum craftsmen.
They are monitored and cared for until the premium rum reaches the peak
of it’s character, when it is the released as Bundaberg Reserve. This old oak aged
rum demonstrates outstanding character and is rich and dark with a hint of oak finish.
Variations: For the first release in June 2009, there were 5,000 (4,989) individually
numbered bottles with certificate of authenticity and in a presentation box, which
were exclusive to the Bondstore. An unknown quantity of numbered bottles came in
a larger special presentation box, including a pair of reserve glasses. These special
presentation boxes are rumoured to have been gifts for liquor outlets from reps as
a promotional item.
The standard Reserve with the generic label was then available from selected liquor
outlets. Bundaberg Rum Reserve was discontinued in 2012.
